The Chief Executive Officer of the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, in the exercise of his regimental and statutory attributions, considering the need for a regulation to carry out Free, Extension and Improvement Courses, in the various areas of knowledge of the institutional matrix, in Pursuant to Article 42, paragraphs “j” and “t” of the Bylaws and the Regulations of the entity ad referendum of the congregation, RESOLVES to institute the General Regulations for Free, Extension and Improvement Courses in the following terms:
Art. 1 The Free, Extension and Improvement courses taught and offered by the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas are based on the legal requirements of the competent bodies, with the objective of offering technical-scientific and professional training in one of the areas of knowledge and are governed by this charter in addition to institutional internal rules.
CHAPTER I
OF COURSES
Art. 2 The Free, Extension and Improvement courses constitute decisive contributions to the complementary training of undergraduate students and graduate professionals, either by expanding the universe of reference they provide, or by direct contact with major contemporary issues, providing reflections on various topics and the enrichment of the student experience, in theoretical and practical terms.
§1 The Free, Extension and Improvement Courses may be proposed and developed in the on-site, semi-on-site or distance mode, in whole or in part, in accordance with current legislation.
§2° The workload of the courses will be a minimum of 04 (four) and a maximum of 20 hours for the Open courses; from 30 to 120 hours for Extension courses; and a minimum of 180 hours for the Improvement courses, not exceeding 360 hours.
CHAPTER II
ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF COURSES
Art. 3rd It is incumbent upon the Executive Board of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas to promote the academic, administrative and financial management of the Free, Extension and Improvement courses offered.
Art. 4° The maintenance of the Courses will be carried out through funds from the payment of enrollment by enrolled students.
CHAPTER III
THE OPENING AND OFFERING OF COURSES
Art. 5th It is up to the Executive Board and the Coordination of Extension Courses, within their competences and after analysis of scientific and pedagogical merit, to approve the launch of Free, Extension and Improvement courses. §1° The Course Project must be previously submitted for analysis by the Executive Board and by the General Extension Coordination, and must include the following items:
1. Identification – Course Project Title
2. Summary of the proposal
3. Objectives (General and Specific)
4. Justification
5. Methodology
6. Expected results
7. Schedule
8. Structure and Material Resources
9. Partnerships (if any)
10.Amount per student
Art. 6° The offer of Free, Extension and Improvement Courses will be organized through publicity approved by the Executive Board and by the General Extension Coordination of the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas.
§1 The disclosure of the courses must inform:
1 Number of vacancies, minimum and maximum;
11. Location where course activities take place;
12.Procedures for registration;
13.Documentation to be presented at registration.
Art. 7 The Free, Extension and Improvement courses approved by the Executive Board and by the General Extension Coordination of the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas are recognized as regular courses.
CHAPTER IV
COURSE COORDINATION
Art. 8 The Coordination of Free, Extension and Improvement Courses will be carried out by the General Coordinator of Extension Courses appointed by the Executive Board of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, pursuant to its Bylaws and these regulations.
§1° The Coordinator must be a specific professional in the area of knowledge of the course, with a minimum title of Doctor. The General Coordinator of Extension Courses is responsible for:
a) Coordinate, supervise and take the necessary measures for the functioning of the Courses, in accordance with these Regulations; b) Adapt, when necessary, the Project of a Course; c) Monitor compliance with the programmatic content and the workload of each Course; d) Establish ways of monitoring and evaluating the Courses; e) Receive, analyze, resolve or forward, if necessary, suggestions, complaints, representations or appeals, from students or professors, on any subject relevant to the Courses; f) Develop norms and support regulations for the functioning of the Courses; g) Carry out adaptations and changes in the Internal Rules of the Courses, when necessary;
CHAPTER V
FACULTY
Art. 9 The teaching staff of Open, Extension and Improvement Courses must be explained in the Course Project.
§1 The criteria for accreditation, re-accreditation and dis-accreditation of professors and Open, Extension and Improvement Courses must be approved by the General Coordination of Extension and by the Executive Board of the Institute.
CHAPTER VI
DURATION OF CURRICULAR COMPLETION
Art. 10° The student who does not fully complete the course, in the case of Extension and Improvement courses, will be entitled to the certification corresponding to the studies carried out, not receiving full certification.
CHAPTER VII
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Art. 11. The registration of the Free, Extension and Improvement Courses will be carried out by the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, in the form of its Bylaws and these regulations.
§ 1 Enrollment will be conditioned to the presentation of a diploma or declaration of graduation course graduation or declaration of active enrollment issued by a Higher Education Institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
CHAPTER VIII
ATTENDANCE AND EVALUATION OF ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
Art. 12. In the face-to-face modality, attendance calculation is established by the presence of the student in the stipulated place for the execution of classes and other teaching-learning activities, on the dates, times and criteria established in the Course Program.
§2° In the distance education modality, attendance is established by carrying out the activities, respecting the student’s autonomy, of the teaching-learning activities within the stipulated deadlines and by the presence, virtual or face-to-face, for the execution of mandatory activities established in the Course Project.
Art. 13. The evaluation of the student’s performance in the Free, Extension and Improvement Courses will be carried out at the discretion of the person responsible for the Course, whether it is Free, Extension or Improvement.
§1° The professor must forward the record of grades (if applicable) and attendance (if applicable) to the Secretariat of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, within 10 (ten) days after the end of the Course.
Art. 14. The student will have the right to request, within a maximum period of 15 (fifteen) days, counted from the official publication disclosed to the student, the revision of the grade or frequency disclosed (if applicable), and the professor responsible for the Course must carry out said revision and return it within 15 days.
§1° In the absence of the professor, it will be up to the General Coordinator of the Extension Courses to deliberate on the request.
Art. 15. The student who obtains the minimum grade as stipulated by the teacher (if applicable) and a minimum attendance of 75% (seventy-five percent) of the total scheduled workload, in the case of Extension and Improvement Courses, will be considered approved.
CHAPTER IX
COURSE COMPLETION WORK
Art. 16 It is at the discretion of the person responsible for the Course whether or not to require a Course Completion Work, in the case of Extension and Improvement Courses.
CHAPTER X
COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATES
Art. 17. The Free, Extension and Improvement Courses grant a certificate with national validity to the student who obtains satisfactory results in the studies.
Art. 18. Certificates of Completion of Free, Extension and Improvement Courses will be issued by the Secretariat of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas.
Single paragraph. The deadline for issuing the certificate will be up to 3 (three) months after the end of the period for completion of the Course.
CHAPTER XI
FINAL PROVISIONS
Art. 19. Omissions will be resolved by the General Coordination of Postgraduate Studies and by the Executive Board of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, within their competences and ultimately by the general meeting.
Art. 20 These Regulations may be modified at any time according to the decision of the Chief Executive Officer of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas, after consulting the General Coordination of Extension Courses.
Art. 21. This Regulation will come into effect on the date of signature by the Chief Executive Officer of Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Carlos Chagas.
Art. 22. Publicize and post on the institution’s websites and bulletin boards.
